The American Rawks Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2025.
Our mission will be achieved by raising funds to distribute through grants and monetary gifts to four distinct channels:
1). To local, independent bands producing and performing at least 80% original rock music for the specific purposes of purchasing merchandise and/or studio recording time.
2). To local clubs and venues offering at least 80% original, live rock 'n roll music.
3). To local, independent record stores to aid in the distribution of original rock music.
4). To local, non-profit music programs and music programs in schools in the community.
As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit all donations to The American Rawks Foundation can be made on a tax free basis so can be used as a tax write off.
Mike Goodin (pictured here with his wife of 14 years, Lorna) spent 20 years as a performing, working, and touring musician. Having played in, sang and written music for everything from metal and punk bands to Americana and Jam-grass bands his love and knowledge of music are estimable.
After meeting and seeing so many great regional bands from California, Nevada and beyond at the Mountain Vibe Music festival in 2022 he was motivated to start The America Rawks Foundation to support the composition, production and performance of original music at the community, grass roots level as a way of giving back to the musicians, bands, venues and music teachers and programs that have given him so much joy. By raising and giving funds to the current wave of independent bands, musicians, venues and music programs he hopes to not only help these talented aspiring musicians CONTINUE to produce and perfrom their original music but also help foster the education and dedication needed to produce talented musicians, bands and songwriters of the future.
We hope you’ll join The America Rawks Foundation in contributing your tax deductible gifts to support any and all of the fundraisers. Some are focused on funding specific goals for specific bands or a music festival that struggles to break even. Or, general contributions can b made to the fundraiser that supports The America Rawks Foundation itself.
Rest assured, all donations are tax-deductible and every penny raised will go to musicians working in your communities to bring original music to you today and into the future.
